The band ended with "the wall". This 3 guys used the name of one of the greatest bands of all time to create a few songs with good sonority but heartless in message.

To everyone who asks “where’s Roger?” Did you also ask where’s Syd, when Dave Gilmour took over? The band changed. Each iteration has its merits. That’s how bands work.

Roger wrote good lyrics, and he had some good concepts. However, he thought he was Pink Floyd. Roger wasn't much of a bass player and disagreed with superior musicians in the band. Gilmour's playing and singing have always been an asset to the band as well as Richard's Keyboards and voice. Nick Mason was an incredible timekeeper and maintained the trance like rhythms crucial to many of their songs. In my opinion, Roger was a big baby, and he quit because he didn't always get his way.

No, they weren’t as strong without Roger—guy is a lyrical genius. Still this is a very good song record. Gilmour and Rick were the more musical ones. David wrote a lot of lyrics for this. (No, not as good as Roger but who is?) Moreover David and Rick are the superior singers. Roger quit. They carried on. And this still lands in top half of their impression canon, IMHO

David recovered the Facebook password 😅

Roger wanted them to just stop because he said so. No surprise they told him to flock off like a bird.

By this time Roger called them Pink Fraud. 😁

The most talented troublemaker is missing on the photo.😁

Without Waters, without Pink Floyd.

Eemmmmm…. Someone’s missing

"We don't need no mullets controled"

Just saw Brit Floyd, I’d love to see David Gilmore

It's like a delicious ice cream sundae without the nuts. All the best parts.

Saw them all for the Animals tour in 77. Also saw the Division Bell and Pulse tours without "the other guy". Finally saw Gilmour close out the Pink Floyd Era at the Hollywood Bowl a handful of years ago. All shows and music was phenomenal! The band carried on just fine without "the other guy"!! Just sayin'

The mind is Roger and there is missing The hand is David, but without the mind is just useless technique

There's one missing

This photo couldn't possibly be more 1980s.

Roger had tried to teach the rest of them how to scowl for the camera; but, as usual, they disregarded his insights - and this was the best the lovely lads could muster.

Forgive him, Roger

Momentary lapse of reason tour photo.

Politics, disagreements, long road trips? Whatever. The original band and the fantastic music they made, included Roger Waters, sadly missing from the picture.

Without Roger Waters that is just “pink”

Even they couldn't escape 80s shoulder pads.

Where's Guy Pratt? Why not Jon Carin? 😁

Not sure why, but this photo sounds like the bendy tones of 'Learning To Fly' in my head 🙃

Flash Gordon, Dale Arden, Dr. Zarkhov, Ming the Merciless, take your pick. Don't know about the songs.

Great riddle! It's truly amazing that after so many years, we are still discovering new details from Pink Floyd's history. As for the setlist, it's true that it remains a great mystery. Unfortunately, the list of songs from those concerts is not well documented, but it only shows how unique those times were. Regarding the poster, the fictional character is the Mad Hatter from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. His image perfectly fits the psychedelic atmosphere that the band was creating in 1968. It's wonderful that the poster captures that vibe.

The song....Set the controls for the heart of the sun.

For years, I thought the only show they played in Sac was Hughes Stadium in 1988! 😮 which I was at! 👍🏼🤘🏼

Yes indeed!

Greatest band ever!!!

Looks like Anton LaVey

no idea

Loved Pink Floyd until I realized Roger was such a Wanker but by then Syd was long gone and Dave Nick and Rick had also found him to be a shithouse.

I want you to get to more shows again soon as possible so I get on tv again

They swore that, after playing on the back of a truck, they'd never come back. They weren't happy.

This gift, the previous one not. I am getting older. I can hardly stand this fat old sun 🫡🌞

Sounds like it’s the Ummagumma live recording playing over the Sydney footage.

PINK FLOYD WAS LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE!

If only I could've made it to Sydney -checks notes- 13 years before I was born!

What an incredible archival gem! It's unbelievable that after so many years, we can watch this legendary performance. Did you know that at this concert in Sydney, there were such powerful winds that the band had to play on a small, makeshift stage? This is a true treasure for every fan! Thank you, Pink Floyd, for being with us for so many years and for music that still inspires. Happy anniversary of this historic concert!

As an older 21 year old with a sophisticated sense. Music. Its an unforgivable sin to believe Pink Floyds music was psychedelic ( sp) induced. As an older person , Pink Floyds [genre?] an easy listening 🎶 👌

The music is actually from ummagumma.

Ahhhh the Famous Gilmour Update they say we're a drug oriented band 🥹 Trust Me We're not Like That 🥴

The best band of all time 🎸

An interesting period for the band

I don't know why I liked this guy from the beginning of my rock music life. I guess, he just made a good posture besides good music. He was someone you trusted. Sincere himself.

David Gilmour in the 70s. My heart…🥹

Juventud divino tesoro
